MODEL NUMBER AND CUSTOMER CODE
Every BAC 1-11 that came off the production line was given a model number and customer code. Each new customer was allocated a two number identity which was added to the first number of the series type. For example Braniff Airways were the third customer to order the series 200. Therefore they were allocated the number 03. The two letter code was allocated with reference to the work package required by each individual customer. In Braniff's case "AE". So their model number / customer code was 203AE.
